i'm not the guy to ask for a real tutorial. sorry about that.

i do however have a bunch of links and resources and miscellaneous tips to offer.

i regularly see neopets invoked in nostalgia-bait posts and constantly have to tell people that it still exists! it's being updated! you can have a shitton of pets now! it's a capitalist hellscape mess riddled with bots and a 1% that loves to throw tantrums at every attempt to make the site more equitable. however it is my mess and i think people should play it anyway.

your most important websites:

  • jellyneo   ⸺   the best fansite / news source out there. guides for just about anything you could possibly want.
  • itemdb   ⸺   item database for every item in the game, and has the best systems for price tracking and wishlisting. i prefer it over jn's item database most of the time, personally.
  • r/neopets   ⸺   cool people. helpful people. if you have a question someone's probably asked it and someone's probably answered. they also have an awesome newbie guide if you've never played before or havent in a while.
  • don't like the new layout? same. theres a handful of unconverted pages that still kind of work with the old layout if you modify the url. add /x to the end of a url and try it out. if you want to see the homepage frozen in time from when it switched, try this link!
  • bargain stocks   ⸺   stock market is awesome passive income. my advice? pick one stock selling at 15np and put all 1,000 of your daily shares into it to keep track more easily. do that daily, only sell when it's up at least 60%. i personally wait until it's at ~230% (1,000 shares selling for at least 50,000np). (this is not financial advice)
  • jellyneo shop directory   ⸺   better than traveling the lands to find the shop you're looking for
  • dress to impress   ⸺   plan your customs! play dress up!
  • the lost and pound   ⸺   directory of pets currently "stuck" in the pound not getting displayed to users browsing the pound regularly. you can find some really cool names and painted pets if you're quick.
  • ixiniva's link list   ⸺   (pet page,only visible to logged in players) my preferred repository of on-site links. you'll find games and dailies you wouldn't even know about otherwise digging through here

this site is broken and a mess and really only useable if you mod the hell out of it. you think i'm kidding but i'm not. for whatever reason, violentmonkey doesn't like some of these. currently recommend tampermonkey for running userscripts.
